How to take a water meter reading</a>

Since the introduction of water meters in Russia,Ordinary citizens have much more to save water, and most importantly - now many know how much to pay a management company or housing department for the consumed amount of life-giving moisture flowing from the tap.

But some still do not understand, and maybe there was no time to figure out how to take readings from a water meter?

We will understand how this is done.

You will need

  • Working water meter
  • Receipt of payment
  • Ballpoint pen or pencil

Instructions

    1

Data on the consumption of consumed water are displayedOn the scoreboard of the water meter. They are of two types: with a drum digital mechanism and with a dial. When working with the first one, it is necessary to look at the instrument panel, where the run-in part of the flow is displayed in the slots. It is this value that needs to be written down. And if you want to know how much is spent for the previous period, then simply subtract from the present (current) value the previously recorded figure, and get the result.

    2

Writing off the value from the second type device (withDial). On the panel of this counter small dials are arranged in a circle. There is a large arrow that indicates the figures on the outer edge of the meter - it shows tenths of a cubic meter (one share = 100 liters). On the other dials, tenths of a cubic meter (cu.m. = 1000 liters) are reported, thousands and tens of thousands. Pay attention to the direction of the rotating arrows.

    3

Necessary figures for the transfer of evidenceAre on the right, they are separated by a comma and differ in color. The figures that to the left denote the fractions of cubic meters, you need those that show the whole cubic meters, that is, located on the right (they change as the water is used up).

    4

There is a so-called remote removalReadings of the device. To do this, a reed switch (a small electromagnetic device) must be additionally mounted on the meter, and a small magnet on the mechanical parts of the counter (roller, gear or arrow). The magnet, with a constant rotation of the part, passes next to the reed switch, which at this time closes the external low-current circuit with contacts. Counting the number of pulses (taking into account their weight), which generated the counter, you can get the volume of water. If the device is functioning correctly, for a certain period of time (day, hour, week, month), the number of pulses will correspond to the indications of the built-in meter indicator.
