The term "pecking order" comes from the Latin word subordinatio - «submission».
Subordination - a system of rules that govern the relationships between people in any environment - the military, in the workplace, the business structure, the educational institution of the family.
Originally the word "subordination" is used inarmy and meant the subordination of junior senior in rank. In the army, as well as other paramilitary structures (police, prosecutors, tax service, security, collection) subordination is expressed most clearly and has a set of formal signs - special uniforms with signs of differences, the documents governing the conduct of civil servants (the charter), as well as rules communication (form of greeting or a reference to his colleagues in the service).
In a broader sense subordination - a respectful attitude of younger age or standing below the ladder to senior age or status.
Insubordination may occur due todisrespect or lack of education (for example, to call an elderly person "you" except close relatives, with whom you are in a relationship of trust). Insubordination also happens because of ignorance of the rules adopted in the community or team, or may be of provocative character to induce in people a negative response action (anger, crying, tears).
The importance of chain of command is thatit helps to ensure the proper order in the enterprise (production discipline), the combat capability of military units, the effectiveness of the educational process at school or university.
Some organizations may subordinationpresent only formally, in the names of officer posts (Director, Head of Department, Specialist). Such teams say they provide a warm, friendly atmosphere. Demonstrative neglect of subordination, deliberate ignoring accepted rules of communication is called familiarity.
Subordination rules adopted by eacha particular team, time should be brought to the new team members. Head should behave correctly in relation to subordinates. The teams with the hierarchical structure of the duty is not only the younger but the older members. The commander must take care not only about making sure the soldiers carried out orders, but also that they are healthy, well fed and clothed. The manager must take care that all employees received their salaries on time. The families of the parents have a great responsibility for the lives, health and well-being of children.
