Leaves of wormwood contain essential oils, due to which they can be used in medicine and everyday life.
You will need
- - plastic container with lid (can be a bucket)
- - atomizer
Infusion is used in the garden:
- as a means of scaring off onion and carrot flies, slime-
- as an insecticide against fettlers, whitewashes, moths, beetles, aphids, earthen fleas, mites, caterpillars, ants-
- as a fungicide against rust of currant.
To prepare an infusion of wormwood, use the leaves and flowering tops gathered at the beginning of flowering. Infusion can be made from fresh as well as from dried herbs.
Put 1 kg of fresh wormwood in the container or 100 g of dried wormwood. Fresh wormwood can not be crushed.
Add 10 liters of water, preferably rain or spring water. If you use tap water, let it stand for 24 hours to allow the chlorine to evaporate.
Close the container with a lid and leave the fermentation mixture for about 10 days. It is better to put the container in a warm place.
To get the best result, stir the infusion every day.
Watch the process. The fermentation time can vary depending on the ambient temperature. The fermentation process will be completed if there are no bubbles on the surface.
When the bubbling is complete, filter the infusion through several layers of gauze as carefully as possible.
Pour solution into sprayer for pollinationPlants. To combat moth-eaters and cabbage whites, use a 10% solution (1 volume of infusion of wormwood mixed with 9 volumes of water). To fight other pests and plant diseases, use undiluted infusion of wormwood.
