When a user purchases a new optical drive to replace the old, before it inevitably raises the problem of its installation inside the system unit (if, of course, the drive is not appearance).
Fortunately, to date, this operation is quick and easy.
Turn off the computer and unplug the power cord.
Remove the side panels of the PC case or disconnect all the cover completely, depending on the type of housing.
Find a free slot size of 5.25-inch drive for installation. In most buildings, they are located in the upper part.
Release the selected slot, or prying off by removing the plug on the front panel of the system case.
Insert in a free drive bay, secure it with screws or clips (some buildings may need to pre-install on the additional drive "slide").
Connect the cables to the drive power and data (IDE or SATA).
Close the computer case and turn it on.
