How to insert a virtual disk</a>

Progress does not stand still.

If earlier you had to purchase a disk to insert a game or watch a movie, insert it into a CD-ROM drive (DVD-ROM), now you can start the game from a virtual disk.

In fact, a virtual disk is not inserted anywhere, but is created using a special program.

You will need

  • Daemon Tools Pro

Instructions

    1

Launch Daemon Tools from the taskbar, through theStart menu or by clicking on the DTPro.exe file icon in the directory with the program installed. In the program window on the top menu bar, select the Tools section, by clicking on it with the left mouse button. In the opened menu, call the Add IDE Virtual Drive command or click the corresponding icon in the control panel. If the panel with icons is not displayed, right-click on it and mark the item with Basic. Wait until the application creates a new virtual disk - at the bottom of the window you will see a thumbnail of the newly created virtual disk.

    2

Right click on the iconVirtual disk or double click on it with the left mouse button. & Nbsp-While the disk is empty, it will be displayed with the label Empty. Select the Mount Image command from the drop-down menu (mount image). Specify the path to the file that contains the disk image (.mds, .iso, and so on). Select the file so that its name appears in the File name line and click Open. Wait for the application to mount the disk image to your virtual disk. When the operation is completed, the virtual disk you created will change its appearance and name.

    3

Close the application window by clicking the X in the rightIn the upper corner of the window, or in the top menu bar, select Exit from the File menu. Confirm the action by clicking the Yes button in the window with the question "Are you sure you want to exit?" (You are sure you want to exit). Open the My Computer folder. Along with the local and removable disks available on your computer, you will see the newly created virtual disk with the image mounted on it. Next, work with it as with a normal disk: if autorun is provided, click on the icon with the left mouse button, if you want to open the disk for viewing, right-click on its icon and select the command "Open".
