To play the Il-2 Sturmovik there are many additions. So I decided to continue my series of articles on this game.
Here I will tell you how to fly without difficulties and how to land, and also: how to save the life of your virtual pilot, even if the plane is thoroughly damaged, and it's too late to jump.
The article is designed for non-advanced players, but I think that this information would be of interest to the veterans of this game.

With takeoff, it seems, everything is simple ... Although it is necessaryThoroughly bite your teeth, trying to keep the plane on the strip. It's all about the torque of the engine. If you have already tried to take off on Mistele in one of the individual assignments, then you probably felt it - the "shelf" and strives to plow the airfield and fly up with it and fly past the link of the "Messers" to the air. To avoid this, you need to use a vertical wheel. Of course, you can put trimmers, but for this you will have to assign keys in the settings of the game, and it's not so easy to handle trims. There is a way easier. Check the control settings in the following items: "Rudder to the left", "Rudder to center", "Rudder to the right." Assign the buttons "," "." "/" To these actions, respectively. In the "Complexity" menu we set "Easy" and manually switch the switches "Takeoff-Landing", "Vulnerability", "Realistic landing". Now we go to the "Separate Tasks" and choose any job that you like (just do not take off from the aircraft carrier - it's for us like Goethe - high poetry!). We go in and start (key i). As a rule, most motors rotate the screw shaft clockwise relative to the pilot, so the plane will demolish to the right. Turn on the appearance of the button F2. We release flaps (double pressing "v"). We deduce the engine on full revolutions (we hold =) and we press a button "," with an index finger of the right hand (right!). The steering wheel will slowly swing to the left and will not return to its original position. As soon as the plane is leveled, press "." And return to the aircraft control. If the end of the band is approaching, and your "piece of dural" has not yet come off the band, then help him with the horizontal rudders. In the air, wait until your aircraft clearly does not bully up, and remove the chassis. Then gradually fold the flaps (the "F" button single-presses the flaps to one position (except for some aircraft that have only a landing position flap)). Here you are in the sky! It was taking off. Now consider the landing.
Landing on the airfield.
Here we are useful old good "Simpleeditor". We go into the editor, immediately remove the anti-aircraft guns in the item "Defense", in the point "Target" we choose "Aerodromes". More than anything you do not need to change! .. except for the plane, of course.
We choose any card, except for "Crimea". Why? Try to get close to the enemy airfield on this map, and a dozen tanks, several anti-aircraft guns and machine guns will cause your plane to make an emergency landing. If you have visual problems or you do not distinguish the shades of white, then the Moscow-Winter card is also not recommended - You risk not to find an airfield at all! The map "Okinawa" is ideal, but someone does not have it, so we will study in the agglomeration of the city of Smolensk. Now we need a plane with strong landing gear racks. I have practically proved that such are all models of Ju-87, IL-2, Italian aircraft CR.42, G.55, MC 202, MC 205, Gladiator Mk.I, various "Sifaires" and "Spitfires".
So, the flight. Your plane is about five kilometers from the enemy's airfield, to which we will land. We will do this with the same kind of a second person F2. The band is perpendicular to our course. Turn left (at least, my band is to the right of the plane). We follow with the mouse behind the strip. As soon as she drew level with us, sharply turn on it with a drop and drop the engine's thrust to 30%. We let the flaps into the landing position (three V), with the aid of the rudders, we level the plane along the strip. Now watch the speed. For the Junkers, Spitfires and Sifaires, it must be at least 180 km / h and not more than 220 km / h. For IL-2, the permissible landing speed is about 170-220 km / h. With the "Italians" it is better not to take risks and keep the speed at about 200 kilometers per hour. For "Gladiators" the landing speed should be in the range of 150-200 km / h. Gently tighten the elevator to the height of the aircraft to the top as it decreases. If the plane begins to "fail" and from your manipulation with the wheel its wings leave an inversion track, immediately add gas with the button =. If, on the contrary, your plane stubbornly pokes his nose in the sky, a little reset the gas button -. You must fly much higher than the band. For 500 meters before the start of the band, release the chassis (for Junkers and CR is not necessary -)) and let the aircraft lower its nose. Target the beginning of GDP and, as you approach, level the plane along the horizon. Finally, your clunker will touch the chasses of the strip. Then put the engine thrust to zero and hold the plane on the strip with the help of a vertical rudder. When he lowers the tail, hold down the "arrow down" - the raised handlebars will slow the movement of the airplane. This, of course, is an ideal landing, but in our case the plane can "give a goat" in the assault of the NSV "Cliff" machine gun! When the plane jumps, sharply lower its nose, and then sharply level. If you're lucky, then the plane will not bounce more, but if you're not lucky ... Jump will not be exact!
Bonus - emergency landing -) Landing on the ground.
In the "Simple Editor" we put the same values(If you quit the game), but in the column "Target" choose "No". Now we are interested in aircraft with strong bodies - choose one from the list. I can advise the following aircraft: P-39, I-153, LaGG-3 (only not RD), Supermarine Spitfair Mk.V, TB-3, Bf-110, Bf-109Z, MiG-3, Ju-87, CR. 42, Il-2, Pe-2.
The list is far from complete, these are the airplanes onWhich I myself repeatedly and successfully made emergency landing on the chassis (!). It should be noted that the I-153 and CR.42 after the "goat" without the involvement of the engine are almost impossible to plant on the chassis, they also have another unpleasant feature - after touching the landing gear of some significant terrain unevenness during the run, At IL-2, the steering wheel often breaks from a jump, the Junkers have extremely strong landing gear racks and rigid shock absorbers (if they exist at all), the P-39 has an "unconventional" steering wheel arrangement - it is located in the nose of the aircraft, Fighters, Bf -110, if he sits on his belly, first of all the engines light up and jump out of the nacelle. If the engines caught fire, but did not drop out, you should immediately get out of the plane (for those who do not already know, pressing Ctrl and E at the same time). The same goes for all other planes.
So, we press "Departure" and immediately the engine is silenced(Or engines). Using the view from the second person, we are looking for a clean and spacious lawn (it is the lawn, and not the potato field !!!). We plan in a circle, aiming at a comfortable place for planting. If you are above the river, then try to land closer to the water, because further from the shore the landscape rises above the valley of the river, and for planting at such an angle it is necessary to be a real ace. To release the chassis or not to let out - here it is already at your discretion. However, "Stukas", the Italian biplane and TB-3 will not give you a choice -) Align on the horizon and release the flaps in the landing position. Attention! I-153, TB-3 and the same Italian, there is no flap! If you sit on your belly, then everything is simple. Wait until the speed drops to the maximum landing (its approximate values for airplanes of different types were given above) and slowly, one meter closer to the ground. The plane touches the belly of the earth, breaks all unnecessary, but the pilot in the cabin is alive and well! If you decide to sit on the chassis, then you have to act even more carefully. If you have sat down too sharply, then the plane will either break off the landing gear racks and explode, or "give a goat", which is also not particularly pleasant. Of course, this is only a rough emit of an emergency situation on an airplane. In the original, enemy cannon shells can make holes in the wings of an airplane the size of an automobile wheel, ailerons, rudders, flaps, or tearing can tear off. I even had a case where a downed bomber, spinning randomly, tore off the end of the wing to my Hurricane. The plane remained on the fly, I was even able to shoot down another bomber and return to the airfield! So train and draw conclusions.
