How to cook starch

You will need

  • Starch
  • Water
  • Deep Casserole
  • Sieve



Mix one part of the starch and four parts of warm water in a large enamel saucepan. Stir well and cover with a lid. Leave the mixture to swell for one hour.


Turn on the fire and move the pan with the mixtureon him. Bring the paste to a boil, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon. Reduce heat to medium, keep stirring Keep the paste on low heat until it becomes thick and clear.


Cool the paste to room temperature and pour it into a jar or other container through a sieve to get rid of the lumps.


Keep the paste in the refrigerator. Average duration of storage of starch paste? a week. It should have a pleasant food smell and consistency, in no case should there be mold. If you feel a rancid smell or see mold stains, immediately dispose of the paste.


You can dilute the finished paste with warm water until the consistency you need. The diluted paste will need to be passed through a sieve again.
