If you observe an Orthodox fast or prefer low-fat first courses, then you will surely like lentil soup.
To prepare soup from lentils "Fakees" you will need the following ingredients:
- brown lentils - 200 g-
- olive oil - quarter of st. L.-
- large carrots - 1 piece-
- bulb - 1 piece-
- garlic crushed (can be dried) - 1 tbsp. L.-
- Dried rosemary and oregano - 1 pinch-
- laurel leaf - 2 pieces-
- Tomato paste - 1 tbsp. L.-
- salt and ground pepper to taste-
- water - 1 liter.
Pour lentils into a large saucepan. Now fill it with water. The liquid should be 3 cm above the beans. Put the pan on the gas and bring the lentils to a boil, cook for 10 minutes, then pour into a colander.
Now pour olive oil in a saucepan andPlace the dishes on a medium fire. When the oil is slightly warm, add garlic, onion, pre-peeled and finely chopped, carrots, grated. Vegetables simmer for 5-7 minutes, until the onion is soft and translucent. During cooking, do not forget to stir the vegetables so that they do not stick to the bottom of the pan.
Now add to the cookware for cookingLentils, pour a liter of water, add seasonings: oregano, rosemary and bay leaf. Bring the dish to a boil and make the fire minimal. Now cover the pan with a lid, cook for 10 minutes. Then add the tomato paste, salt and pepper to the lentil soup. Mix everything. Again, cover the pan with a lid. Cook until the lentils become soft, in time it will be about 30-40 minutes.
There is a soup of lentils recommended in a warm form. By the way, a little advice. If your first dish after a little is standing, will become too thick, then you can just add water and boil it.
