Its purpose - among the 38 strongest club teams of the Old World to identify four of the strongest, between which then carried out a final series of games.
It is called the "Final Four" and is held every year in different cities and countries.
This spring, the Euroleague finals held in Istanbul, Turkey, and it once again struck hard from the Russian basketball clubs - CSKA Moscow.
Group stage of the Euroleague CSKA started in the middle ofOctober last year, on-site meeting with the Lithuanian «Zalgiris». No problem in this game is the champion of Russia and did not feel defeated by a margin of 13 points - 87:74. CSKA won the first place in the group, but for an exit in the next stage it was enough not to get on one of the last two places.

At this stage, CSKA in the group, except where the Greeks had two Turkish teams - "Galatasaray" and "Efes Pilsen". One of them - "Galatasaray" - CSKA and lost for the first time in the Euroleague 2011-2012. This happened in early February, but did not affect the outcome of the game - to win all the remaining meetings of CSKA became the first in the final table.
In the next stage - the quarterfinals - the teamWe played to three victories of one of them. Rival was Muscovites Spanish club "Bilbao Basket", which only once managed to beat CSKA. It was the third match of the series, CSKA won with a total score of 3: 1, which gave them a ticket to the "Final Four". Rival of our club became the semi-finals twice beat at the group stage of the Greeks "Panathinaikos", which could not resist this time. However, there was a very difficult game - CSKA had to win back three quarters, and only in the last analysis, they are caught up in the rivals and pulled out a victory with a difference of only two points (66:64).
The final match CSKA - "Olympiakos" was held 13May in the stadium "Sinan Erdem Dome" in the Turkish capital. And the Greek team CSKA played up twice in the preliminary stage, but, alas, the final match was a mirror image of the semi-finals.
